Songkhla: Floodwaters remain high in areas outside Songkhla City following heavy rain and rising sea levels. Relevant agencies are rushing to provide assistance to villagers.

According to Thai News Agency, the flooding situation in Songkhla Province, beyond the heavily inundated Hat Yai city, has also devastated surrounding districts. For example, Ban Khu Nam Rop, Village No. 9, Na Thap Subdistrict, Chana District, Songkhla Province, the district’s only island in the middle of the water, has been completely submerged, leaving approximately 53 households stranded. This flooding is considered the most severe yet, due to heavy rain, rising sea levels, and water flowing from Na Thawi and Chana Districts into the Nathap Canal. Relevant agencies are rushing to provide assistance, particularly with essential consumer goods, until the situation returns to normal.

Regarding the water situation in areas outside Hat Yai city this morning, water levels in many areas have begun to recede. Inspections of the bridge over the Phuminat Damri Canal, also known as Khlong R.1, revealed that water levels have begun to recede, with the canal embankment becoming visible. This morning, a large number of people have been traveling to monitor the water situation on the bridge. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Center of Songkhla Province, Eastern Southern Region, has issued its 12th warning, advising the public to remain vigilant for the dangers of heavy to very heavy rains continuing until November 25th.
