Bangkok: Nan: The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has taken action to support residents of Ban Huai Pood, a remote area in Nan province, by dispatching helicopters to deliver much-needed royal relief bags and food supplies. Access to the area remains challenging due to recent floods.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Suchart has ordered ongoing assistance for flood victims in these isolated regions, deploying two helicopters for six flights to ensure essential supplies reach the residents of Ban Huai Pood, located in the Pua district. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, led by Minister Suchart Chomklin, continues to expedite aid efforts, emphasizing the importance of reaching even the most remote areas where people await help.
This morning, the Ministry coordinated the dispatch of two helicopters for six flights to Ban Huai Pood in the Phuka Subdistrict, Pua District, Nan Province. The mission aimed to deliver royal relief bags, survival kits from the Phetkasem Foundation, rice, and dried food to residents still awaiting assistance. The ongoing challenge of limited road access has necessitated the use of aerial delivery to ensure essential supplies reach those in need.
The Ministry has relied on data from the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) to identify areas and groups of people who may be stranded or in need of assistance. This has allowed for more effective planning and quicker delivery of relief efforts. Mr. Suchart emphasized the commitment to reach all affected residents, stating, "No matter how far it is, we must reach them because the villagers are suffering and waiting for our help."
Authorities have reiterated the use of helicopters when ground routes are inaccessible, and they continue to coordinate with affiliated agencies to monitor the situation and provide ongoing assistance. Preparations are also underway for post-operative recovery to help residents return to normal life as soon as possible.
