Bangkok: Mueang Maha Sarakham A fire broke out in the middle of the night in Tha Tum Subdistrict, Mueang Maha Sarakham District, completely destroying the house. Neighbors helped rescue the elderly homeowner to safety.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at a two-story wooden house in Moo 6, Ban Don Ruea, Tha Tum Subdistrict, Mueang District, Maha Sarakham Province. Firefighters rushed to extinguish the intense blaze, which took over 30 minutes to bring under control. However, the house was completely destroyed.
Fortunately, at the time of the incident, a group of young people from the village were riding motorcycles past and saw the fire. They shouted for help, and nearby neighbors then helped to safely escort Grandma Thongliam out of the house.
Grandma Thongliam, 80 years old, the homeowner, recounted that she is disabled, unable to walk, and blind. Fortunately, someone helped carry her out of the house in time, but during the escape, she sustained abrasions on her knee from hitting the door. At the time of the incident, she and her husband were sleeping on the ground floor. They then heard a loud sound like an explosion coming from the second floor before discovering the fire.
Mr. Siriwat, a neighbor who helped rescue Grandma Thongliam, recounted that while he was resting, he heard villagers shouting "fire!" He rushed out and saw flames engulfing the upper floor of the house. He immediately ran in to help carry Grandma Thongliam out. Authorities will investigate the cause of the fire and assess the damage.
