Bangkok: Uthai and Nanthawat, the two suspects in the heroin-hidden package sent to AirMeena for smuggling to Australia, have been remanded in custody. Today, police from the Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) escorted the suspects from their holding cells to the Criminal Court on Ratchadaphisek Road, accompanied by a request to oppose bail.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nantawat and Mr. Uthai, both wearing face masks, refused to answer reporters' questions as they were led to a prisoner transport vehicle. The police organized the media to ensure an orderly escort of the suspects, who were taken away with other drug-related arrestees.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Somboon Thiankhao, Deputy Commander of the NSB, stated that the suspects had provided information useful to the case. However, authorities remain skeptical about the completeness and accuracy of their statements, particularly concerning the origin of the heroin. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts to verify the suspects' claims against available evidence and to identify other network members.

The rented room in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province is suspected to have been used for packaging and distributing the drugs. Investigations continue, and further details remain undisclosed at this stage.
