Tunis: Herv© Renard has resigned as head coach of Tunisia's national football team following their early exit from the 2026 World Cup. The French coach, who managed the team for only two matches, made the announcement after Tunisia failed to secure any points in the group stage.
According to Thai News Agency, Renard was appointed as the head coach on June 16th, replacing Sabri Lamouchi. Lamouchi was sacked after a 5-1 defeat to Sweden in Tunisia's opening match of Group F. Despite the change in leadership, Tunisia's fortunes did not improve under Renard's guidance.
In their subsequent matches, Tunisia suffered a 0-4 loss to Japan, followed by a 1-3 defeat to the Netherlands. These results left Tunisia at the bottom of their group, having failed to earn any points from their three matches. The team's early exit prompted Renard to step down from his position, marking the end of his brief tenure as the national team's coach.
