Immigration ready to welcome tourists after visa-free starts for 93 countries

Bangkok, Immigration police welcome the 60-day visa-free policy for tourists from 93 countries, adding more officers to facilitate and watch out for dangerous individuals in order to stimulate the number of tourists and generate more income from the tourism sector. Pol. Maj. Gen. Panthana Nuchnart, deputy commissioner of the Immigration Bureau, said that the Immigration Bureau has prepared measures to support the policy from the beginning. If there is economic stimulus, there must be more foreigners traveling in and out of the country. Currently, there is already an increase in travel in and out of the country. More officers will be added to help facilitate. In the case of crowded channels, more immigration officers will be added to fill the inspection channels during rush hours when there are a large number of passengers arriving at the same time. Each person will be facilitated within no more than 45 seconds. If some people have doubts, they will be invited for further discussion. We will try to prevent c rowded inspection channels and make travel in and out better. Another problem that will follow is the problem of committing crimes. The Immigration Bureau has a Biernetric system, which is a system for checking people entering the airport and watching out for dangerous people. In this part, there is no need to worry because the system will check the residences of foreigners in Thailand. However, if the public has information about wrongdoings, they can report it to the Immigration Bureau. The officers will use that information to investigate and arrest the wrongdoers.
