Bangkok: Metropolitan Police have received information that a scammer gang from a neighboring country has moved to a sub-base in Bangkok. They are committing cyber crimes, using AI intelligence to create videos that deceive other AI systems, and secretly opening mule accounts, turning victims into criminals without warning.
According to Thai News Agency, the scammer gang leverages advanced AI technologies to carry out their operations. Their primary method involves generating deceptive videos that can mislead AI systems, allowing them to bypass security protocols and commit various cyber crimes. The gang is also involved in opening mule accounts, which are used to launder money and conduct illegal transactions. These mule accounts often belong to unsuspecting victims, who are unknowingly turned into accomplices in the scam.
The Metropolitan Police are working to dismantle this operation and prevent further cyber crimes. They aim to disrupt the gang’s activities and prevent them from exploiting AI systems and innocent individuals. The authorities are focusing on identifying the members of the gang, tracking their operations, and collaborating with international agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.
