Kalasin: A family conflict turned deadly when a nephew shot his uncle over a disagreement involving a spicy salad. The incident took place at a residence in Village No. 1, Ban Lak Liam, Lak Liam Subdistrict, Namon District, Kalasin Province.

According to Thai News Agency, the tragic event unfolded late at night at around 9:20 p.m. when Mr. Thara, 35, was fatally shot in the chest by his 26-year-old nephew, Mr. Suea. The weapon used was a homemade .38 caliber Thai gun, and the victim was shot twice. The altercation reportedly began when Mr. Thara scolded Mr. Suea for preparing a salad for him, despite knowing his dislike for it.

The mother of Mr. Suea explained that the relationship between the uncle and nephew had been strained for some time. Before the shooting, a verbal exchange occurred after Mr. Thara criticized the salad preparation. The deceased’s displeasure escalated the situation when he confronted Mr. Suea, leading to a physical altercation. This incident prompted Mr. Suea to retrieve a firearm from the house and shoot his uncle.

Following the shooting, Mr. Suea disposed of the weapon by throwing it into the water from a bridge connecting Lak Liam and Ban Non Ying San villages. He then returned to the scene and waited for the police to arrive. Authorities have since taken Mr. Suea into custody and are proceeding with legal action.
