Koh Chang: Let’s go taste GI durians at the Durian Tasting Festival, Chanee Koh Chang, Trat Province. This year is the 4th time it’s been held. At the durian orchard of Mr. Wirot Phonlakaj, Koh Chang, Trat Province, there was a press conference for the 4th “Good Durian Tasting Festival, Koh Chang Gibbon (GI)”, which Trat Province, represented by the Trat Provincial Agriculture Office, Koh Chang District Agriculture Office, Koh Chang District Office, and Koh Chang Gibbon durian large-scale farmers, scheduled to hold the event from 30 April – 4 May 2025 in front of the Koh Chang District Office, Koh Chang.
According to Thai News Agency, this is the 4th time that the event is organized to promote Koh Chang Chanee Durian, create sales points for Koh Chang Chanee Durian, other agricultural products and other products that are Koh Chang’s best to make them more widely known to tourists, and also to develop marketing skills for farmers in the area and promote sustainable agricultural tourism.
There are many activities in the event such as selling agricultural products, especially Koh Chang Chanee durian, the best Koh Chang Chanee durian contest, and free sticky rice with durian in coconut milk. Selling fresh fruits, processed products, products from community enterprise groups, and other OTOP products. In addition, there is also the KOH CHANG WALK and RUN FUN 2025 walking and running activity.
Chanee durian from Koh Chang is a famous local fruit. From the test results, Chanee durian from Koh Chang found that it contains more iodine and vitamin E than Chanee durians grown in other areas. This is because the original soil of Koh Chang was formed from volcanoes, making the durian sweet and creamy. The flesh is sticky, soft, and not mushy.
