Phuket: "Pholpeer" has launched an investigation into previous actions against an Israeli group holding Thai citizenship cards, revealing they are not directors of Chabad but nominees holding shares. "Phonpeer" confirms that there are Israeli citizens in Phuket who have indeed obtained Thai citizenship. He is preparing to investigate whether the process was done legally.

According to Thai News Agency, a report indicated that Israelis had obtained Thai citizenship through their positions on the board of directors of Shabak. Deputy Minister of Interior, Polpeera Suwannachavi, addressed the issue, stating that investigations confirmed the individuals had indeed acquired Thai citizenship 10 years ago, supported by documentation. He emphasized that a thorough investigation would be conducted to verify the legitimacy of the citizenship acquisition. When queried if more individuals held Thai citizenship, Polpeera acknowledged there were, but refrained from disclosing details as the investigation is ongoing. He assured citizens that any illegal activity would lead to prosecution.

General Peer also clarified that claims suggesting those who obtained citizenship are directors of a synagogue are inaccurate. He stated that these individuals are directors of a company owning the premises where the synagogue is located, registered as a nominee entity, hence the necessity for investigation. The ongoing investigation aims to trace both illegal business activities and the money trail.
