Phanom phrai: Jiraporn promotes Songkran on Khao Pun Saw Road, Phanom Phrai District, Roi Et Province. According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphai, Member of Parliament for Roi Et Constituency 5, Pheu Thai Party, has extended an invitation to the public to attend the Songkran festival on 'Khao Pun Saw Road' in Phanom Phrai District, Roi Et Province. This marks the first time the festival will be held at this location, and it is scheduled to take place from April 13-14, 2026. The event is intended to become an annual attraction, drawing tourists, creating employment, and promoting income distribution within the community. Ms. Jiraporn highlighted the success of the 2025 Songkran festival organized by the Pheu Thai Party at Sanam Luang, which attracted many foreign tourists and generated significant revenue. Inspired by this success, the Phanom Phrai District aims to utilize local customs to enhance economic value. To achieve this, local leaders, government agencies, and the private sector have col laborated to transform the area in front of the Phanom Phrai District Office into a hub for the 'Khao Pun Saw' Songkran festival. The event will feature a 30-meter-long water tunnel, musical performances by local bands and EDM artists, creating an energetic atmosphere. Attendees can enjoy 'Khao Pun Saw,' or Khanom Jeen Nam Prung, a local dish served for free during the festival. This dish consists of traditional Khanom Jeen noodles with local vegetables and a special fermented fish sauce broth, offering a taste of Northeastern Thai cuisine.
