Khlong Toei Community Leaders Demand Apology from Pheu Thai MP

Bangkok: The Khlong Toei Community Leaders Network held a press conference to refute the recent remarks made by Phanthil Nuamjerm, a member of the Pheu Thai Party, in Parliament on May 1st. His comments, which referenced drug issues in the Khlong Toei area, were perceived as damaging to the community's image.

According to Thai News Agency, Sompis Phobphet, speaking on behalf of the community leaders, expressed sadness over the portrayal of the Khlong Toei flats as places with easy access to drugs. She explained that the purpose of the press conference was to clarify the situation and convey the community's feelings. The leaders are demanding an official apology from Phanthil Nuamjerm. If no progress is made, they plan to gather and submit a letter of protest to the People's Party.
