Bangkok: The Chief Advisor to the Minister of Labor participated in the Kick Off event for the influenza vaccination campaign and coordinated with agencies under the Ministry of Labor to set up booths to provide services to the public.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suradej Yasawat, Chief Advisor to the Minister of Labor on Policy and Planning, was invited by Lt. Col. Damrongsak Kwanchai, Mayor of Pako Dam Municipality, to participate in the kickoff event for the influenza vaccination and cervical cancer screening campaign to promote tourism in Mae Lao District in 2025. Mr. Rungroj Tanwut, Mae Lao District Chief, presided over the ceremony, and Mr. Sukchai Thiansawatrakul, Director of Mae Lao Hospital, gave a report on the event’s objectives. Relevant agencies and local residents participated in the event in large numbers.
Mr. Suradet briefly addressed the public and attendees, explaining that today’s event was a collaborative effort between the Chiang Rai Provincial Public Health Office and the Pa Ko Dam Subdistrict Municipality. Lieutenant Colonel Damrongsak Kwanchai, Mayor of Pa Ko Dam, coordinated a budget to provide vaccines to a large number of local residents. This is to promote tourism and attract tourists during the winter season.
Mr. Suradej stated that, in his capacity as Chief Advisor to the Minister of Labor (Ms. Trinuch Thienthong), he has coordinated with agencies under the Ministry of Labor to participate in activities to provide services and provide information on job applications for workers seeking to work abroad, particularly regarding foreign worker registration. This activity is considered highly beneficial to the people of Chiang Rai’s border provinces.
Mr. Sukchai Thiensawatrakul, Director of Mae Lao Hospital, stated that winter has arrived, with cold to very cold weather in many areas of Chiang Rai Province, particularly in the highlands. This could lead to widespread illnesses and respiratory infections, such as influenza and COVID-19, and potentially a widespread outbreak. The Chiang Rai Provincial Public Health Office has allocated 10,000 doses of influenza vaccine for tourism and influenza prevention in Mae Lao District. The target group is all Thais who have not yet received a vaccine in 2025. Mae Lao Hospital and its network partners have responded to this policy by organizing a campaign to promote influenza vaccination for tourism. The campaign took place from November 10-18, 2025, at various locations in the area.
