Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, has acknowledged the royal grace of His Majesty the King, who has generously contributed personal funds to support flood relief efforts in southern Thailand.

According to Thai News Agency, His Majesty the King donated 100 million baht to Hat Yai Hospital to aid in the purchase of medical equipment damaged by the recent floods and to enhance the hospital’s capacity to care for patients. Anutin conveyed the King’s concern for those affected by the floods, including medical personnel and officials working in the area, describing it as a significant act of royal grace. He received a royal message from Air Chief Marshal Sathitpong Sukvimol, His Majesty’s Private Secretary, urging swift action in response to the disaster.

Anutin has tasked the director of Hat Yai Hospital with receiving the royal donation and ensuring its effective use. Additionally, His Majesty has taken the deceased under royal patronage, assuming responsibility for all funeral arrangements. The government will expedite the issuance of death certificates and facilitate the return of bodies to families for religious ceremonies, providing 2 million baht for each funeral.

Anutin further mentioned that His Majesty has extended encouragement to doctors, officials, and volunteers aiding in the disaster response. In a gesture of continued support, the King has also donated drones to all armed forces to assist in managing the aftermath of the floods. Anutin emphasized the government’s commitment to building upon the guidance and assistance provided by His Majesty.
