Klang Na Pla Khao’s Innovative Approach to Business Growth Amidst Crisis

Chonburi: Anirut Saengpaiboon, known as "Hia Tee Noi," alongside Chef Maggie, the driving forces behind "Klang Na Pla Khao," have demonstrated an exemplary approach to business management that transcends traditional food service. Their adaptability and commitment to community growth have earned them a prestigious national SME award.

According to Thai News Agency, the journey of Klang Na Pla Khao began with leveraging the owners' prior experiences in event management and the food industry. This foundation facilitated their expansion into tours and catering for organizations, creating a synergistic business model where each venture supports the others.

The COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges, forcing the business to innovate beyond its conventional operations. Rather than ceasing operations, Klang Na Pla Khao pivoted to a delivery model, serving meals to factories, companies, and local communities. The team also engaged in grassroots marketing by distributing flyers and directly delivering food to homes.

The knowledge gained from participating in the SME Provincial competition last year was instrumental in their success, culminating in a first-place win at the Chonburi provincial level and a special award in the service business category. This year, they were recognized nationally among the top 40 SMEs and received accolades for their community-focused business model.

Klang Na Pla Khao has fostered a unique organizational culture by establishing "clubs" where employees can engage in activities like gardening, baking, and producing dishwashing liquid. These initiatives not only provide additional income but also contribute to the business, creating a dynamic and engaged workforce. Daily "Morning Talk" sessions further ensure that customer feedback is addressed promptly.

The business's commitment to community and environmental sustainability is evident in its sourcing of ingredients from local farmers and offering a marketplace for villagers' products. Events are organized to thank local riders and community partners, while an effective waste management system underlines their dedication to environmental stewardship.

Chef Maggie's innovative content creation has transformed the restaurant's marketing strategy. By producing engaging content and customizable "set meals," the restaurant has enhanced its brand identity and customer experience.

Looking forward, Klang Na Pla Khao plans to transform its rice and fish storage area into a learning center, offering educational experiences in local cuisine and cooking. This initiative aims to enrich community engagement and provide unique opportunities for both children and the public.

The overarching lesson from Klang Na Pla Khao's journey is clear: SMEs must remain adaptable, continuously develop systems, and embrace learning to navigate crises effectively. Chef Maggie's advice to fellow entrepreneurs is to remain resilient and view crises as opportunities for innovation and growth.
