According to Thai News Agency, the match was a turning point for both teams. Jordan opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a goal from Nizar Al-Rashdan, giving them an early lead. However, Algeria responded in the second half with Nadir Benbouli leveling the score in the 69th minute. Riyad Mahrez sealed the victory for Algeria with a decisive goal in the 82nd minute.
