Bangkok: The Anti-Trafficking Division of the Royal Thai Police has arrested "Yod the Kids," a significant figure in child prostitution, following investigations into his involvement in the exploitation of over 50 underage girls.
According to Thai News Agency, police officers from the Anti-Human Trafficking Division apprehended Mr. Saran, also known as "Yod," a 38-year-old, on charges related to human trafficking and procuring for prostitution. His arrest took place in Soi Wat Dan Samrong, Samut Prakan Province. Evidence gathered included social media accounts, photographs of children associated with "Yod the Kids," records of financial transactions, and a mobile device used in the criminal activities.
The arrest was made possible after undercover agents infiltrated a secret prostitution LINE group. The account administrator, identified as "Yod The Kids," was found recruiting underage girls via social media and developing relationships with them in the local community.
During questioning, Mr. Yod confessed to a preference for minors and admitted to supplying around 50 children to numerous clients. His financial records indicated a turnover exceeding 200,000 baht. Mr. Yod has a criminal history, having been previously arrested in 2022 for selling child pornography. At that time, he received a 12-month prison sentence, which was suspended for 2 years. Despite this, he continued his illegal activities, escalating his offenses to a more severe level.
