Man Remanded for Shooting Friend Over Loud Music Dispute

Nakhon pathom: The man who shot his friend in the head, leaving him critically injured, has been remanded in custody after being angered by a warning about playing loud music during a drinking session. "I'm sorry, I regret it," were the last words a young man with a gun left for his neighbor before being taken into custody. He admitted to shooting his friend in the head, leaving him critically injured, because he was angered by being warned about playing loud music while drinking with his friends.

According to Thai News Agency, this morning, police from Nakhon Pathom City Police Station escorted Mr. Chainarin, or Arm, the suspect who allegedly shot Mr. Chakrawat in the head with a pen gun, causing serious injury, into a vehicle to be taken to Nakhon Pathom Provincial Court for remand.

The incident occurred at 8 PM last night at a row house in Soi Makham, Moo 7, Huai Chorakhe Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Pathom District. After the incident, the suspect fled to a relative's house before returning to the police station to surrender. He confessed to the media that before the incident, the victim, Mr. Chakrawat, insulted him first. Mr. Chakrawat then rode away on his motorcycle and returned with something wrapped in cloth. He pointed his finger at a younger person, and at that moment, not knowing what was in his hand, he decided to shoot him. He then fled to a relative's house before deciding to turn himself in. He admitted that the pen gun used in the incident was purchased two years ago for 500 baht. He acknowledged that he had never had any problems with the victim before and wanted to apologize. When asked if he had anything to say to his wife and children, the suspect simply replied, "I'm speechless right now."

A friend of the suspect, who was drinking with him, said that before the incident, the victim rode his noisy motorcycle into the row of houses and parked in front of one of them. He then shouted a challenge to the suspect, saying, "Come on, I'll give you the full blast!" while holding an object wrapped in cloth. The suspect then went into his father's room, then came out and went directly to the victim before shooting him and fleeing. Everything happened very quickly at that time.

Witnesses stated that the victim had only rented the room two weeks prior and worked at a pork factory. Before the incident, they saw the suspect drinking alcohol with friends and playing loud music. After a while, the victim asked them to lower the volume because he had been working hard and hadn't slept for several days. This angered the suspect, who approached the victim and shot him at close range before fleeing on a motorcycle. He later abandoned the motorcycle near the rented room before escaping on another blue Yamaha Giorno motorcycle with an unknown license plate.

The injured are in critical condition, while the suspect has been charged with attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm, and carrying a firearm in a public place.
