Bangkok: MCOT collaborates with Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon to develop a disaster warning system technology via the DAB+ digital radio network, enhancing emergency communication efficiency for the public.

According to Thai News Agency, MCOT Public Company Limited and Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon are advancing their collaboration in academic affairs, research, and the development of disaster warning systems via the Digital Radio Abroad (DAB+) network. This partnership combines MCOT's strengths in network capabilities, engineering knowledge, and experience with the university's research and development expertise to create a practical technology prototype.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Jetsada Pongthanathanawat, Director and Acting President and CEO of MCOT Public Company Limited, and Dr. Nattavoraphol Rachasiriwacharabul, Rector of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, at MCOT Public Company Limited.

This collaboration aims to study, design, and develop a disaster warning system using Automatic Safety Alert (ASA) technology, capable of transmitting real-time alerts. The main goal is to improve the efficiency of disaster warning communication and create a channel for quickly reaching the public in emergency situations.

This collaboration marks another significant step in advancing DAB+ and ASA technologies from research to real-world testing, aiming to develop an efficient disaster warning communication infrastructure and provide tangible benefits to the public.
