Bangkok: Wat Sai Mai held a merit-making ceremony to commemorate the 50th day since the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, dedicating the merit to her memory. The ceremony took place at Khukhot Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province.

According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony proceeded with full honors and was presided over by Phra Khru Sophonphatrawet, Dr. (Luang Pho Odd), the Abbot of Wat Sai Mai, as the head of the monastic side. Colonel Plengsak Prakasaphesat of the Volunteer Territorial Defense Foundation led the lay side. Present at the event were Lieutenant Colonel Chai Sophonphanich, Lieutenant Colonel Thitika Tangthaweewattanakul, and Lieutenant Colonel Wiwattchai Chiwasakphimas, alongside numerous government officials from Lam Luk Ka District, representatives from local administrative organizations, and citizens.

The ceremony featured the chanting of Buddhist prayers, the offering of alms to monks and novices, and free haircuts as a merit-making act for His Majesty the King. The event was part of a series of memorial services approved by the Cabinet on October 28, 2025. These services were set to occur on the 7th, 15th, 50th, and 100th days following Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s passing, to express condolences and profound gratitude for her immeasurable kindness and dedication to the Thai people.
