Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has announced that the recount of votes for the 2026 proportional representation parliamentary elections in six polling units revealed minor discrepancies of just 1-2 votes. These discrepancies are not expected to impact the overall election results.

According to Thai News Agency, reporters observed that the recount process in seven constituencies, as mandated by the ECT, showed that the majority of the votes remained consistent. However, minor changes were noted in specific polling stations. In Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, at Constituency 1, Polling Station 2 in Rai Mai Subdistrict, Sam Roi Yot District, the recount indicated an increase of 1 vote due to a previously missing tally mark, maintaining the number of votes cast at 438 out of 570 eligible voters.

Similarly, in Sam Roi Yot Subdistrict, a change was identified in the number of invalid ballots, reflecting an increase of 1 vote from the initial count. In Phetchabun Province, discrepancies of 1-2 votes were noted in valid ballots. For Constituency 1, Polling Station 1 in Nai Yom Subdistrict, the recount showed a decrease of 2 valid ballots, while at polling station 2 in Nong Phai Subdistrict, Nong Phai District, a decrease of 1 valid ballot was observed.

Additionally, in Kamphaeng Phet Province, Constituency 1, polling station 8 experienced a discrepancy of 1 vote in valid ballots, and polling station 14 saw a variance of 2 votes. Despite these minor differences, the recount process affirms the reliability of the election results, as the overall outcome remains unaffected.
