Bo Rai: Officers from Bo Rai Police Station have detained a man from the Mon ethnic group, identified as Mr. Tone, at Trat Provincial Court following allegations of stabbing a 1-year-old boy to death in a rubber plantation. The authorities have charged Mr. Tone with three serious offenses, including intentional murder, drug use, and illegal entry.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident has raised concerns among local government and relevant agencies, who visited the deceased boy’s family. The family, identified as illegal migrant workers, had legally entered the country but are in a precarious situation where they cannot receive assistance. The local authorities are currently exploring ways to provide support to the family amidst their tragic loss. Meanwhile, the Bo Rai Police Station’s investigation team plans to gather more information in the area and has expressed intent to question the mother of the accused, as relatives suspect her involvement in the boy’s murder.
