“Moo Deng” donates 500,000 baht from fans to help flood-stricken schools in Chiang Mai

The Zoological Park Organization of Thailand donated 500,000 baht to flood-affected schools in Chiang Mai under the ‘Moo Deng’ project, inviting people to help flood victims and look after the welfare of their animal friends.

Today (October 19, 2024) at the meeting room on the 5th floor of the Chiang Mai Zoo Office Building, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jessada Tonawanik, Chairman of the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand, along with Mr. Phatra Khamphithak, Director of the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand, Mr. Atthaporn Sriran, Director of the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand, Ms. Jongkolnee Kaewsod, Deputy Director of the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand, Ms. Somrak Busapthamrong, Deputy Director of the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand, and executives traveled to Chiang Mai Zoo to present financial assistance to 10 schools affected by flooding in Chiang Mai Province, including:

1. Wat Sao Hin School, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province

2. Kawilawittayalai School, Thas
ala Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province

3. Wang Sing Kham Temple School, Pa Daet Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province

4. Wat Sri Don Chai Municipality School

5. Wat Pa Paeng Municipality School

6. Kawila Anukul School

7. Nong Phak Rang Temple School

8. Chiang Mai College of Dramatic Arts

9. Wat Sriping Muang Municipality School

10. Ban Muang Kuet School, Kuet Chang Subdistrict, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai

Led by Mr. Nathee Damrong, Mayor of San Sai Luang Subdistrict Municipality, along with representatives from each school and students, who joined the handover ceremony this time. This is to fulfill the objectives of the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand, which has organized the ‘Moo Deng’ project, inviting people to help flood victims and look after the welfare of animal friends, to support the care of the lives and welfare of various wild animals, including joining in helping flood victims.

From the flood situation in Chiang Mai Province, where houses
, schools and various places were flooded over a wide area, causing damage to property and pets, which is considered the biggest flash flood in Chiang Mai Province. At the same time, the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand is very aware of the suffering of the victims and is determined to be a part in supporting Thai society in terms of both animal care and assistance to the public during disasters so that those affected can quickly regain a better quality of life, in line with the policy of being a state enterprise for society.
