Despite her grief, she takes pride in the fact that her son gave his life for the nation.
According to Thai News Agency, reporters traveled to Kalasin Province, where Private Chanchai, a 22-year-old machine gunner, hailed from. He lost his life in combat after being struck by a Cambodian mortar round, becoming the eighth casualty in the ongoing conflict.
Mrs. Nipaphan, 50, expressed her profound sadness and shock upon receiving the news of her son’s death. As her only child, Private Chanchai’s loss is deeply felt, yet she holds immense pride in his sacrifice for Thailand. In preparation for his return, the abbot of Wat Pho Chai Khok Yai in Bua Ban Subdistrict, along with relatives and villagers, is organizing a ceremony. The government has announced that his body will arrive in his hometown tomorrow.
