Kong' Somkiat Chantra joined the launch of a special-colored motorcycle that will be used in the Moto2 World Championship road racing competition in Buriram, hoping to recover from his right leg injury in time. Dr. Arak Phornprapha, President of Thai Honda Co., Ltd., Mr. Yuichi Shimizu, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Honda Co., Ltd., Mr. Lucio Cecchinello, Team Manager of Idemitsu Honda LCR, jointly announced the success of the Thai motorsport industry in supporting 'Kong' Somkiat Chantra, the first Thai rider in history, to join the MotoGP World Championship in the 2025-2026 season after performing outstandingly in the Moto2 class, collecting a total of 2 championships and 6 podiums before receiving an important opportunity and signing a contract with the Idemitsu Honda LCR team, a top racing team in the MotoGP competition, moving up to the premier class, the biggest class in the world, from next season onwards. Meanwhile, the event also created a surprise by launching a special racing car to compete in the home race, 'PT Grand Prix of Thailand' at Chang International Circuit, Buriram Province, on October 25-27. This pattern was inspired by Kong, who was born in the Year of the Tiger, hence the name 'Kham Roaring Tiger', as well as Kong being from Chonburi. The car also incorporates the pattern of Pattaya City. Kong Somkiat revealed the progress of his ankle and hamstring injuries from the competition in Indonesia, which required him to wear a walking support, saying that his symptoms have improved after two weeks. On October 15, he will go to the doctor again to see if he will recover in time to compete in Australia on October 18-20. However, if he will not recover in time, he will try to recover as quickly as possible to compete in Thailand. As for the MotoGP competition next season, Kong revealed that he feels very excited and happy. He would like to thank all the sponsors. After this season ends, there will be a MotoGP test.
