Noodle Shop Owners Attacked by Drug Addict in Repeated Violent Incidents

Bangkok: A noodle shop owner and his wife were subjected to a terrifying attack by a drug addict who brandished a knife and threw bricks at them, injuring the husband. The attacker, identified as Mr. Kao, 27, fled the scene on a motorcycle after the assault. This marks the third time the shop has been targeted by the same individual.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at a noodle shop located on the side of Le Nadi Road, near Na Muang Road. Surveillance footage captured the couple running out of their shop after being attacked. In a desperate attempt to defend herself, the wife used a black plastic water bucket while the attacker attempted to stab himself. Despite her efforts to disarm him with an iron rod, the attacker managed to escape.

Mr. Wichian, the 57-year-old owner of the noodle shop, recounted the ordeal. On the day of the incident, Mr. Kao, who is the son of one of the shop’s employees, entered the premises and threw a brick at Mr. Wichian’s wife, Mrs. Duean, aged 61. The situation escalated when Mr. Kao attempted to stab himself with a knife, leading to a struggle that spilled out onto Na Muang Road. Mr. Kao continued his assault on Mr. Wichian and caused further damage to the shop.

The shop owner revealed that Mr. Kao has a history of drug use and has previously attacked him twice. The first incident involved a stabbing in the collarbone, which was not serious enough to press charges at the time. The second incident involved disruptive behavior in the shop. After this third attack, Mr. Wichian decided to report the matter to the police. Investigators are now gathering evidence to seek an arrest warrant for Mr. Kao.
