Bangkok: Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus: A new dimension in examination transparency was showcased when the Department of Local Administration (DLA) live-streamed the grading of local government executive exams at Thammasat University. The initiative aimed to build confidence and guarantee transparency in the examination process, with Deputy Director-General Sembe emphasizing the fair and impartial conduct of the exams.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai Local Administration Facebook page broadcasted the grading process live from the examination center at Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus. This followed the completion of a competitive examination for executive positions in local government organizations nationwide. The live stream provided insight into the grading process, displaying officials simultaneously grading Parts A and B of the exam with grading machines, and included the scanning and storage of various documents. The presence of committee members and observers aimed to further cement the trustworthiness and transparency of the process, offering a new perspective for the Department of Local Administration.
The live broadcast covered the entire grading process, with exam papers from provincial centers being brought to the site. Police vehicles with GPS tracking escorted the process, ensuring the security of the answer sheets. Relevant officials were present as witnesses during transportation to the storage and grading location. A total of 37,359 candidates participated in the exam for 17,543 vacant executive positions in local government.
After visiting the examination center at Thammasat University, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior and Acting Director-General of the Department of Local Administration, Mr. Nirat Pongsitthithavorn, traveled to Chonburi Province. There, he inspected the examination arrangements at Chonburi Sukhabot School, accompanied by local officials. Mr. Nirat reiterated the department's commitment to conducting the exams transparently and fairly.
