Bangkok: The oil leak point on Rama 3 Road has been found. Ekanat urges the two companies owning the pipeline system to take responsibility.

According to Thai News Agency, Energy Minister Ekanat Promphan inspected the site of an oil contamination problem in Bangkok's drainage system near Chueapleng Road, under the Rama 3 elevated bridge, at the border of Khlong Toei and Yannawa districts. The leak was discovered during excavation. He ordered BAFS Pipeline Transport Co., Ltd. and Bangkok Pipeline Transport and Logistics Co., Ltd. to take responsibility and urgently rectify the situation. Furthermore, he instructed both companies to not only resolve the problem and restore the area to its original condition but also to pay compensation for the damages incurred.

Mr. Ekanat thoroughly inspected the surrounding area to assess the impact and prevent further leaks. The discovery of this leak is a crucial step in resolving the oil spill problem in the Rama 3 area. The Ministry of Energy will closely monitor the remediation and restoration efforts to ensure that the business operator fully takes responsibility for the damage caused.
