Bangkok: Opal Suchata Chuangsri, Miss World 2025, has pledged to uphold the legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, by preserving traditional Thai fabrics and supporting breast cancer initiatives. Opal recently returned from Cardiff, Wales, where she participated in a breast cancer charity gala, expressing her deep admiration and condolences for the passing of the Queen Mother.
According to Thai News Agency, upon her return to Thailand, Opal visited the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion in the Grand Palace to sign her condolences and pay homage before the Queen Mother’s portrait. She highlighted her admiration for Queen Sirikit’s lifelong dedication to enhancing the lives of the Thai people, particularly women, through her establishment of the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer in 2005.
Opal emphasized her commitment to preserving Thai cultural heritage by regularly wearing traditional fabrics, aiming to showcase their versatility and beauty to a global audience. She expressed her pride in sharing the unique artistry of Thai textiles with others, hoping to inspire appreciation and interest in the tradition.
In addition to cultural preservation, Opal is determined to continue her work with breast cancer projects, aligning with her “Opal for Her” initiative. This project focuses on raising awareness, disseminating valuable information, and garnering support for those affected by breast cancer.
