Bangkok: The Parliament extends an invitation to the public to participate in the ‘Constitution Day’ celebration scheduled for December 10th. The event offers an opportunity to view the regalia, explore the ceremonial hall, and attend a special lecture by the ‘President of the Parliament’.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sirote Patphan, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, announced that the Secretariat of the House of Representatives, through the 2025 Constitution Day Organizing Committee, will host Constitution Day 2025 on December 10th from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Parliament Building. The celebration aims to foster public engagement across all sectors and enhance understanding of democratic governance and the functions of the House of Representatives. The event also seeks to revive historically significant activities and underscore the Constitution’s role as the supreme law.
Mr. Sirote further mentioned that the event will include various activities, notably a special lecture by Mr. Wan Muhammad Noor Matha, President of the National Assembly, titled “93 Years of Constitution Day: Past, Present, and Future of the Thai Constitution.” Additionally, a seminar on “The Current Parliament, Constitutional Amendments, and Drafting a New Constitution” will feature esteemed speakers such as Mr. Krawee Prisananantakul, MP for Ang Thong from the Bhumjaithai Party; Dr. Cholanat Srikaew, MP for Nan from the Pheu Thai Party; Mr. Phanthil Nuamchim, MP for Bangkok from the Prachachon Party; and Mr. Kowit Phuangngam, representative of the King Prajadhipok’s Institute.
Mr. Sirote also noted that the parliament building will be accessible to the public for tours, showcasing its architecture, the spire, and the ceremonial hall. Tours will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., divided into nine one-hour sessions. Online pre-registration is available for 1,000 seats, with limited spots for on-site registration.
In addition, Mr. Sirote highlighted that an exhibition on Constitution Day 2025 and OTOP products from 77 provinces will be available for purchase around the Emerald Pool on the first floor of the Parliament Building from December 8-10. Parking is available at the Bangkok Public Health Service Center 38 (Kiak Kai), with shuttle vans provided to and from Parliament on December 10, as well as from the MRT Bang Pho Station to Parliament.
