According to Thai News Agency, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) would like to clarify the incident of passengers injured on local train No. 486 between Nam Tok and Kanchanaburi stations while changing locomotives at Wang Yen station at 5:02 p.m. on December 6, 2025. The report found that during the changing of diesel locomotives between trains No. 259 and 486, diesel locomotive No. 4212 collided with the train with an impact, resulting in 13 passengers injured.
Following the incident, the State Railway of Thailand coordinated with local agencies and rescue teams to provide immediate assistance. The Phitakkan Foundation transported 13 injured people to Phaholyothin Pholpayuhasena Hospital (9 patients) and Thanakan Hospital (4 patients). Meanwhile, approximately 20 people with minor injuries received first aid from officials at the scene and preferred not to travel to the hospital.
To facilitate passengers still traveling, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has arranged a bus carrying 70 passengers, departing Wang Yen Station at 7:05 PM to transport them to Kanchanaburi Station and the River Kwai Bridge. SRT officials have also been instructed to visit the injured at the hospital.
