Paveena Laksanawisit Leads Kla Tham Party Delegation to Visit Disability Foundation

Nonthaburi: Paveena Laksanawisit, leading a delegation of Kla Tham Party's Bangkok and Nonthaburi parliamentary candidates, visited the Foundation for the Promotion and Development of People with Disabilities in Pak Kret District. She emphasized plans to establish a vocational training institute for people with disabilities and build affordable housing for them, aiming to improve their quality of life and ensure equal rights with able-bodied individuals.

According to Thai News Agency, on January 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM, the Kla Tham Party (KT), represented by Ms. Paweena Hongsakul, Chairperson of the Kla Tham Party's Social Affairs Advisory Board and a candidate for the party's proportional representation system, along with Mr. Chanwit Munikanon, also a proportional representation candidate, led a delegation of Kla Tham Party candidates for Bangkok: Mr. Supharit Mannateerai (District 7), Ms. Pimnada Teeraprajakchart (District 8), Mr. Disayarit Roodee (District 10), Mr. Nonthapavith Kaewngam (District 12), Mr. Techasit Dontrirak (District 13), and Ms. Pavarisa Kunawornon (District 15). Additionally, Kla Tham Party candidates for Nonthaburi - Mr. Surachet Thongkam (District 4), Mr. Apisit Ngambusbongsophi (District 5), and Mr. Kunakorn Mannateerai (District 6) - presented the party's policies at the Foundation for the Promotion and Development of People with Disabilities. Mr. Phatthaphan Krisana, Secretary-General of the Association of Persons with Disabilities of Thailand, welcomed the attendees. Over 100 members of the Foundation for the Promotion and Development of Persons with Disabilities also attended.

Ms. Paweena stated that she was pleased to visit and listen to the problems and suggestions from the Foundation for the Promotion and Development of People with Disabilities today. She and the Kla Tham Party want to see people with disabilities nationwide have better lives, live like normal people, and receive equal rights. In practice, however, people with disabilities still do not receive the same rights as able-bodied individuals, despite the 2007 Act on the Promotion and Development of the Quality of Life for People with Disabilities, Section 33, which requires employers, business owners, and government agencies to employ people with disabilities in appropriate ratios. Furthermore, the Ministry of Labour Regulations of 2011, Clause 3, requires employers with 1 disabled person for every 100 employees; Clause 4 requires government agencies to employ 1 disabled person for every 100 employees; and Clause 5, if Clauses 3 and 4 are not followed, requires annual contributions to the Fund for the Promotion and De velopment of the Quality of Life for People with Disabilities.

"I and the Kla Tham Party believe that people with disabilities should receive equal rights with able-bodied individuals. A key social policy of the Kla Tham Party is: 1. To promote the establishment of vocational training institutions for people with disabilities. We prioritize and want to ensure that people with disabilities have stable employment and can fully demonstrate their potential. Therefore, vocational training is necessary to develop the knowledge and skills of people with disabilities, which is something they also desire. Today, I and the Kla Tham Party have taken the opportunity to visit and study the foundation, which serves as a good model," Ms. Pavina emphasized.

"Today, the Kla Tham Party has assigned me to work for society. As you can see, our society is very fragile and weak. I and the Kla Tham Party want to see change, so we have volunteered to solve social problems and bring about positive change. If the Kla Tham Party becomes a Member of Parliament and joins the government, we will push for policies to help people with disabilities improve their quality of life and receive equal rights with everyone else," she further stated.
