Khon kaen: A candidate from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has petitioned the Khon Kaen Election Commission to review the election results in Constituency 3. Simultaneously, a candidate from the People's Party has also raised concerns about the same election, pointing to several irregularities.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatchawan Apirakmanmong, candidate for Member of Parliament for Khon Kaen Province, Constituency 3, number 4, representing the People's Party, submitted a formal complaint to the Khon Kaen Provincial Election Commission office. He has requested an investigation and review of the vote count results after identifying several irregularities in the election held on February 8th.

Mr. Chatchawan highlighted discrepancies in the number of advance voting ballots compared to registered voters, a significant number of invalid ballots, and irregularities in the vote counting process. He noted that during certain periods, the scores of candidates surged unexpectedly, conflicting with the initial data reported on the Election Commission's website before later corrections were made.

Additionally, Mr. Chatchawan pointed out inconsistencies in the data of advance voters, casting doubts on its accuracy. The slight differences observed in party vote tallies suggest potential inaccuracies, leading to a petition for a complete recount in Constituency 3.

Mr. Chatchawan also called on the Election Commission to scrutinize the conduct of election committee members at polling stations, mentioning instances where individuals with political affiliations were involved in their operations. He stressed the importance of ensuring a transparent and fair election process.

Mr. Wachara Srisarn, Director of the Khon Kaen Provincial Election Commission Office, confirmed receipt of the complaint from the People's Party candidate in Constituency 3. He assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted urgently to ensure fairness for all involved parties.

Mr. Wachara addressed circulating rumors about a complete recount of votes across Khon Kaen province, clarifying that such claims are false. He explained that recounts fall under the Election Commission's authority, and the current process focuses on verifying the accuracy of the figures. He reaffirmed that no recount will take place.
