Bangkok: "Peerapan" is making strategic moves into Thonburi, appointing "Kawin" and "Narongchai" to oversee critical areas. Residents of Bang Khae market are placing their trust in them to tackle the pressing issue of high gas prices, while also supporting their potential entry into parliament to continue addressing the ongoing energy crisis.
According to Thai News Agency, on January 31, 2026, Mr. Peerapan Salirathavipak, leader of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, campaigned alongside Ms. Sasikarn Wattanachan, deputy spokesperson, Mr. Wattana Phu-ob-aom (Tong Sitchoi), a list candidate, and Ms. Kanyavee Charusampankanok, a candidate for Bangkok Constituency 32. Their visit to Bang Khae Market was aimed at bolstering support for Mr. Narongchai Tharana, candidate for Bangkok Constituency 29 (Bang Khae-Nong Khaem), and Mr. Kawin Chatawanich, candidate for Bangkok Constituency 30 (Bang Khae-Phasi Charoen). The campaign was met with enthusiasm, as vendors and shoppers warmly welcomed the party's representatives.
During the visit to Bang Khae market and nearby communities along Phet Kasem Road, Mr. Peerapan received roses from residents and vendors, who expressed their desire for him to become a Member of Parliament to tackle the energy crisis and alleviate the economic difficulties faced by the local population. The primary concern expressed by the community was a reduction in cooking gas prices, which constitute a significant business expense.
Mr. Peerapan highlighted his efforts during his tenure as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, where he worked to reduce energy costs, including oil and electricity. He specifically mentioned how cooking gas prices were previously frozen at 423 baht per 15 kg cylinder, while currently, the price has increased to over 480 baht per 15 kg cylinder. This increase, he claimed, demonstrates the exploitation by energy tycoons at the expense of ordinary citizens.
The campaign team then visited the Pong Sirichai and Soi Sirikasem communities to engage with residents, many of whom are elderly and involved in commerce. They presented a universal welfare policy offering 1,500 baht per month and introduced an initiative to establish an emergency fund providing interest-free loans of 50,000 baht per person, aiming to mitigate financial liquidity issues for low-income individuals.
Additionally, Mr. Peerapan outlined the party's policy on employing senior citizens. He emphasized the importance of utilizing the skills of senior citizens by providing 300,000 government job opportunities with a minimum wage of 12,000 baht. These roles are intended to focus on social services and community care, including positions like caregivers for the elderly and assistants for the disabled.
