Nonthaburi: The People's Party (PPRP) has officially announced Decharat Sukkamnerd as its candidate for the upcoming Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) chairman election. The party is urging residents to support their vision for a "NEW Nonthaburi."
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party, introduced Mr. Sukkamnerd, who is the Director of the People's Party's Think Forward Center and a former economics professor at Kasetsart University. This announcement follows the tragic death of the former PAO chairman, Pol. Col. Thongchai Yenprasert. Mr. Nattapong emphasized the party's respect for the former chairman and the decision to wait until the mourning period ended before officially submitting their candidate application in August.
Mr. Sukkamnerd expressed his excitement about the opportunity to implement policies he helped draft in previous elections. As a lifelong resident of Nonthaburi, he highlighted his personal connection and commitment to addressing local challenges, including mental health, environmental issues, and economic development. He outlined a vision for Nonthaburi that includes enhancing livability, fostering leadership, and ensuring inclusivity for all residents.
The candidate assured that the positive contributions of the former chairman would continue and be improved upon. He stressed the importance of addressing new challenges and the role of public participation in shaping the province's future.
In response to social media speculation about political tensions, Mr. Sukkamnerd clarified that the People's Party focuses on collaboration and fostering growth for everyone in Nonthaburi, irrespective of political affiliations.
