Hat yai: The Permanent Secretary of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has joined forces with eight units, involving more than 170 people, for a Big Cleaning Day in District 8, Hat Yai. This initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of residents following a recent flood.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Nattareeya Thaweewong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, spearheaded the effort alongside Mr. Chaturon Phakdeewanich, Director-General of the Department of Tourism, and Mr. Surat Charoenyothin, Provincial Tourism and Sports Officer of Phatthalung. They were joined by provincial tourism and sports officials and representatives from Songkhla, Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Satun, Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat provinces. Key participants also included Ms. Kesaraporn Wimonrat, Director of the Tourist Standards and Safety Supervision Division, representatives from the Songkhla Provincial Tourist Police, the Sports Authority of Thailand (Songkhla), and the TAT Hat Yai Office (Songkhla Area).
The collaborative team, which included Ms. Dueanchan Bunrung, Senior Policy and Plan Analyst, and Ms. Natthanicha Saengchuang, Policy and Operations Plan Analyst, among others, visited Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province (Area 8) to support rehabilitation efforts. Their primary mission was to expedite the recovery process by conducting a “Big Cleaning” operation. This involved clearing public areas, roads, and communities that were severely affected, removing debris, collecting trash, and cleaning up, to ensure that residents could safely and quickly return to their daily routines.
