Bangkok: Pheu Thai unveils its three prime ministerial candidates: Yotsanan, Suriya, and Chulaphan, along with its first set of policies for the 2026 general election, aiming to overhaul Thailand.
According to Thai News Agency, on December 16, 2025, the Pheu Thai Party introduced its nominees for Prime Minister as part of their campaign ‘Overhauling Thailand: Pheu Thai Can Do It’. The candidates are Mr. Julaphan Amornvivat, the party leader; Mr. Suriya Jungrungruangkit, the director of the election campaign for Pheu Thai Party; and Mr. Yoschanan Wongswasdi, a former deputy dean for research and international relations at the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University. This significant event was attended by party executives, key figures, and prospective parliamentary candidates.
Before introducing the prime ministerial candidates, a video montage highlighted the achievements of past prime ministers from the Pheu Thai Party, tracing its history from the Thai Rak Thai Party to the present day. This montage included leaders such as Thaksin Shinawatra, Samak Sundaravej, Somchai Wongsawat, Yingluck Shinawatra, Setha Thavisin, and Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
The three candidates were given the stage to share their visions and to present the initial policies of the Pheu Thai Party for the upcoming election.
