Bangkok: The Pheu Thai Party announced its candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections, with Professor Dr. Yotsanun Wongsawat spearheading the campaign as the party’s prime ministerial candidate. The announcement came during an event held on December 25, 2025, at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters, showcasing the party’s readiness for the elections scheduled for February 8, 2026.
According to Thai News Agency, the event witnessed the launch of 500 candidates who will contest for Member of Parliament positions in both constituency and party-list systems. The party emphasized its core policies under the slogan: “Pheu Thai can do it, make Thailand great, choose Pheu Thai – both the candidates and the party.”
The event was vibrant, with key party leaders, including Mr. Julaphan Amornvivat, the party leader, and Mr. Suriya Jungrungruangkit, the party’s election director, presenting their vision for Thailand’s future. They stressed the party’s strategies and its comprehensive preparedness for the elections.
Professor Dr. Yotsanun addressed the candidates, highlighting the importance of leadership and collective effort. He emphasized the party’s commitment to national development through 100 defined policies focusing on four main areas: grassroots support, economic enhancement, new economic engines, and government roles in stability and development.
Mr. Suriya highlighted that the election is about choosing the country’s direction and policies. He noted that the Pheu Thai Party is well-prepared, with numerous ready-to-implement policies and additional plans awaiting disclosure.
Mr. Julaphan concluded by underscoring the significance of the election for Thailand’s future, asserting that the Pheu Thai Party is equipped to lead the nation towards stability and growth, citing past achievements in economic growth and social welfare as evidence of their capability.
