Phonpee Responds to Kardee’s Criticism Over Ministerial Appointments and Achievements

Bangkok: "Phonpee" has responded robustly to criticism from "Kardee,' defending the achievements of his team and questioning the accomplishments of the Democrat Party over the last three decades.

According to Thai News Agency, the controversy began when "Kardee" criticized the appointment of ministers from the "Ministers of the Divine Childhood" group. Phonpee, highlighting his extensive political career, dismissed the criticism and emphasized the efforts of his team, which include resolving long-standing issues such as hidden electricity charges on public bills and local government exam fraud. He challenged the Democrat Party to reflect on its contributions during its time in power.

Deputy Minister of Interior, Pol. Lt. Gen. Suwannachawi, addressed questions from Democrat Party MP, Ms. Kardee Leowpairoj, about the appointment process. He emphasized that appointments should be based on merit rather than familial ties. He pointed out that the Democrat Party, despite being part of the previous government coalition, failed to make a significant impact. Suwannachawi defended the current administration's choice of ministers, asserting their capabilities and the implementation of policies within the short time they have been in power.

Mr. Polpeer also highlighted the readiness of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation under the leadership of Mr. Jetset Thaiseth, as well as the thorough handling of corruption issues by Mr. Worasit Liengprasit. He argued that the administration's approach to removing public electricity costs from citizens' bills demonstrates their commitment to addressing public concerns. Mr. Polpeer urged critics to reconsider their positions, noting his long-standing experience in politics and asserting that the government's policies are centered on benefiting the people.

Discussing the term "child gods," Mr. Polpeer viewed it positively, suggesting it symbolizes the integration and cooperation among ministries. He pointed out that the resolution of hidden electricity charges, a problem persisting for over 30 years, was achieved under the current government. Mr. Polpeer concluded by questioning the opposition's achievements over the past decades, asserting that the current government's efforts are finally addressing these longstanding issues.
