Phra Phrom points out that Venerable V. Vajiramedhi sitting on snow does not violate monastic discipline.

A famous page posted a picture of Venerable V. Vajiramedhi meditating on snow in Japan. Phra Phrom pointed out that it did not violate the monastic code. He thought that Venerable V. Vajiramedhi wanted to test his patience. After the ongoing drama since the incident of The Icon Group, the latest Facebook page, E-Sao Khui Khao, posted a picture of V. Vajiramedhi meditating in the snow with the caption, 'He went to practice Dhamma. Whoever says he went, please watch. He meditates in the snow. He is patient. It is very admirable.' After that, there were comments criticizing whether it was appropriate or not. Why did he do it? The reporter therefore went to ask Phra Payom Kalyano, the abbot of Suan Kaew Temple, about the incident and what he thought. Phra Payom said that our country has no snow. When you see it, you want to walk around, sit or sit and study how cold it is. It is normal for people to want to practice, to see if they can endure it. If you sit like this, there is no problem, nothing wrong. But if you fly, lift yourself up, that is reprehensible. As for people criticizing, it is a matter of personal opinion. But in my opinion, I think he is someone who likes to experiment and study. As for whether there is any disciplinary violation, there is none because I have not shown off. Source: Thai News Agency
