Bangkok: Pita Limjaroenrat, a campaign assistant for the People's Party, delivered a compelling speech at the final election rally, "Believe in the People," held at Samyan Mitrtown. He emphasized the importance of unity and hope in politics, urging the public to join hands in transforming the political landscape into one that brings joy rather than suffering.
According to Thai News Agency, Pita highlighted the unresolved issue from the last election, where over 40% of the population nationwide voted for their party, the former Move Forward Party, securing 14 million votes and the top spot. Despite this, they were not allowed to govern. He emphasized the need for a decisive victory this time, stating that "winning by a large margin, winning spectacularly, and winning for a longer period than before" is crucial.
Pita called for a significant victory to prevent the second-ranked party from forming a government against them. He advocated for a "spectacular" win, emphasizing integrity and discouraging vote-buying, to maintain the dignity of their group since the Future Forward Party. Additionally, he aspired for a long-term victory, reminiscent of Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's two-term tenure, promising the return of key figures like Thanathorn and Piyabutr, along with Pita and Chaiyathawat.
He addressed three specific groups of voters: the approximately 12 million people who may abstain from voting, urging them to prioritize this election despite the costs; the 7 million undecided voters, encouraging them to choose candidates committed to public welfare, like Rangsiman Rome and Rakchanok Srinok; and the 2.4 million first-time voters, reminding them not to lose hope in Thailand.
Pita concluded with a call for collective action, emphasizing that the possibility of change relies on the people. "Whether it's a politics of possibility or impossibility doesn't depend on us, but on all the people. Let's come together to establish a government of the people, by the people, for the people. Together."
