Police Intensify Search for Gold Robbery Suspect in Nakhon Pathom

Nakhon pathom: Police are launching a massive manhunt for a lone gunman who robbed a gold shop in a shopping mall in downtown Nakhon Pathom, stealing 46 baht weight of gold worth 3.5 million baht. The suspect's escape route appears to have formed a spiderweb pattern, and police believe he is still in the Nakhon Pathom area.

According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage captured a male suspect, approximately 170 cm tall, aged 40-50, wearing a long-sleeved plaid shirt and a black full-face helmet. He entered a gold shop in a shopping mall in Nakhon Pathom province, threatened the shop employees with a gun, and stole 23 gold necklaces weighing 2 baht each, totaling 46 baht (approximately 3.5 million baht in value). He then fired shots to clear a path before escaping on a gray-black motorcycle without license plates, fleeing along Phetkasem Road towards Nakhon Chai Si district. The incident occurred around 7:30 PM yesterday (March 11, 2026).

Nakhon Pathom Provincial Police inspected the scene and initially found two spent blank-bullet shells. Witnesses stated that the suspect had been scouting the area for approximately two hours before the robbery. Taking advantage of the time before the gold shop closed, the suspect used a gun to threaten employees, forcing them to put gold necklaces into a plastic bag they had prepared.

The escape was observed in a spiderweb-like formation, suggesting it is still believed to be in Nakhon Pathom province.

This morning, Pol. Lt. Gen. Pisit Tanprasert, Commander of Provincial Police Region 7, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Pitak Uppapong, Commander of Nakhon Pathom Provincial Police, held a meeting to follow up on the progress of the case. They ordered investigative teams from all over Region 7 to spread out and search for clues, and to check CCTV footage along the suspected escape route. Initially, it was found that the perpetrator did not ride the motorcycle towards Bangkok, but instead made a right U-turn towards Ratchaburi Province and then rode through narrow alleys, creating a winding, spiderweb-like escape route that made investigation difficult. It is believed the suspect is still hiding in the area. Police are conducting a widespread search and applying pressure in Nakhon Pathom city.
