Chiang mai: Police investigators from Region 5 successfully raided a hideout of the notorious "White Liquor Gang," arresting 13 teenagers and dismantling their operations. According to Thai News Agency, the raid was conducted after receiving reports of the gang's unusual gatherings and potential for violence within Chiang Mai city. During the operation, police seized numerous items, including explosives, ping-pong bombs, knives, brass knuckles, and motorcycles. One suspect faced charges for possessing weapons that cannot be licensed, while three individuals were found with knives, four with brass knuckles, and one with a slingshot. Additionally, two suspects were charged under the Immigration Act. Police also confiscated seven modified motorcycles for inspection to verify their legality. Profiles of the 13 teenagers were compiled as part of efforts to deter future offenses and prevent further violence. The operation is viewed as a crucial preventative measure, aiming to stop the group from committing acts o f violence and maintaining peace in the Chiang Mai province.
