Bangkok: Poo Manthana acknowledges the defamation charges against her husband, Num Kanchai, and is confident she has evidence to win every case. She declared, "If I lose, don't come groveling at my feet!"
According to Thai News Agency, veteran actress Poo Manthana, or Ms. Manthana Himathongkam, arrived at Thakhram Police Station with her lawyer, Mr. Mana Wandee, to give a statement and submit documents to the investigating officers. This follows a defamation complaint filed against her by famous TV host, Num Kanchai, since July of last year.
Poo revealed that she is not worried about this case, viewing it as harassment by the opposing party. She considers this filing a duplicate complaint. Regarding the opposing party, lawyer Pornsak, the attorney for Num Kanchai, who gave an interview to the media yesterday suggesting that Num Kanchai and Lawyer Pornsak might increase the number of lawsuits against Poo Manthana from 5 to 6-7, still pursuing criminal charges rather than civil ones, in order to ultimately deprive her of her freedom, Poo responded, "Let them sue me if they want. I don't care. They started it. They should ask the other party if they want to see me lose my freedom." Poo also affirmed that she has evidence and is confident in her ability to win every case.
Due to the ongoing lawsuits, Poo admitted to losing many opportunities, including acting roles, endorsements, and businesses, which has diminished her credibility. She also stated that she wasted time, money on court and legal fees, and felt harassed by having to file a complaint at such a distant police station. She is ready to face Num Kanchai, whom she has never met in person since the lawsuits began. During court proceedings, only lawyers represented her. She acknowledged that a face-to-face meeting would involve many discussions. She remains confident in the justice system and declared that if Num Kanchai loses, he shouldn't come begging for forgiveness, as she wouldn't accept it either. Finally, Poo revealed that she has filed more than 22 lawsuits against her, including those against Num Kanchai and lawyer Tui.
