Bangkok: Privy Councillor General Prayut Chan-o-cha participated in the Bangkok gubernatorial election early this morning, casting his vote at a polling station situated under the expressway on Soi Patipat 5. The ongoing voter turnout was managed with strict security measures enforced by police officers.

According to Thai News Agency, General Prayut arrived at polling station number 11 in the Phaya Thai subdistrict at approximately 9:10 AM. Situated in a tent under the expressway on Soi Patipat 5 (Rewadee Nuea), his name was listed as voter number 155. Upon his arrival, General Prayut greeted the election officials respectfully with a wai, a traditional Thai gesture, before presenting his national identification card for verification. He then followed the necessary procedures to cast his vote, entering the booth, marking his ballot, and submitting his vote.

After completing the voting process, General Prayut smiled at the media and left the polling station without delay. Voter activity throughout the Bangkok gubernatorial election has been steady, with citizens arriving consistently to exercise their voting rights. Polling station staff and police have been active in facilitating the election process, ensuring both security and order are maintained until the conclusion of the vote counting.
