Bangkok: The Prime Minister convened a security meeting before the Cabinet meeting to closely monitor the situation in the southern border region. Today at 8:35 AM, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul arrived at Government House to carry out his duties and urgently convened a meeting of security agencies for the second consecutive day to monitor and assess the unrest in the southern border provinces.

According to Thai News Agency, several individuals met with the Prime Minister this morning, including Mr. Wan Muhammad Nor Matha, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister and advisor to the Government's Special Representative Committee on resolving problems in the southern border provinces; Mr. Pakorn Nilapraphan, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Thanat Suwannanon, Director of the National Intelligence Agency and head of the peace talks team for the southern border provinces; and Mr. Chatchai Bangchawad, Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC).

Mr. Chatchai declined to give an interview to the press, stating only briefly, "It was a normal meeting, nothing special."

Additionally, it has been reported that the Prime Minister summoned Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), Yotsanu Wongsawat, in his capacity as the commander of the flood situation in Nan province, and Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, Paradorn Prisnanantakul, for a meeting at Government House to discuss recovery measures and compensation for flood victims. The proposal will be submitted to the Cabinet for approval of central government funds for initial assistance, including 9,000 baht per household for flood victims and 330,000 baht per family for compensation for those who died.
