Prime Minister Arrives at Government House for AZEC Meeting on Energy and Environment

Bangkok: The Prime Minister arrived at Government House to prepare for the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) meeting, which is set to focus on energy and environmental issues.

According to Thai News Agency, at approximately 11:55 AM, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, along with his spouse, Mrs. Thanon Charnvirakul, reached Government House in a private vehicle. The Prime Minister is scheduled to participate in the AZEC Plus Online Summit through a teleconference held in the Dome Room of Government House.

The AZEC meeting is part of a cooperative framework initiated by Japan under the premiership of Fumio Kishida in 2023. This initiative aims to promote energy transition and decarbonization using various approaches that are adapted to the specific contexts of each Asian nation. The overarching objective is to achieve a net-zero carbon footprint while maintaining economic growth and energy security. The meeting includes 11 member countries, comprising Japan and the 10 ASEAN member states.
