Bangkok: The Prime Minister has expressed gratitude to those interested in the ODOS Summer Camp project, which has now surpassed 100,000 registrations. The initiative is designed to provide Thai children and youth with global opportunities, emphasizing that academic excellence is not a prerequisite for participating in overseas experiences. The Prime Minister reassured the public that there are no fees involved, and any claims to the contrary should be regarded as fraudulent.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, noted that the Prime Minister received an update from the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA). The agency, responsible for driving the ODOS Summer Camp project, reported that as of May 6, 2025, over 100,000 individuals had logged their interest. The ODOS (One District One Scholarship) project aims to expand educational opportunities across various levels, ensuring all Thai children have equal access. It offers a range of scholarships, incl
uding undergraduate and summer scholarships, and focuses on developing district schools into model institutions to cultivate quality human resources for Thailand’s future development. The Prime Minister urged youths nationwide to apply quickly as the application window is nearing closure and called on relevant agencies to raise awareness about the project.
The program assures both youth and their parents that no fees or charges are required for application or participation. There is no policy for officials to contact applicants or their families. The ODOS Summer Camp program will award ‘free’ scholarships to selected participants, with a total of 928 scholarships available from 878 districts nationwide and 50 districts in Bangkok, with government support covering all expenses akin to government scholarship students.
‘In this final stretch, we encourage the youth to embrace new opportunities. They can apply through the government’s application to enter the selection process, which includes an English languag
e and digital skills test, a country selection draw, and an interview. Successful candidates will be announced in August. For more details, visit https://odos.thaigov.go.th/ or the Facebook page: ODOS Summer Camp,’ Mr. Jirayu stated.
