Bangkok: The Prime Minister has addressed speculation surrounding the anticipated transfer of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Suchart Chomklin, to the Bhumjaithai Party. The Prime Minister has requested that Suchart formally announce his decision, emphasizing that it is common for political figures to collaborate in serving the public interest. He also noted that although Chalermchai Sri-on, the former leader of the Democrat Party, has not yet discussed his political future with him, they maintain a cordial relationship.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, responded to inquiries regarding Suchart Chomklin’s political plans. He expressed a need to hear Suchart’s official statement, while acknowledging their long-standing discussions and mutual political alignment. Anutin emphasized that joint efforts between political parties to serve the nation are not uncommon.
When questioned about his potential reaction if Suchart officially joins the Bhumjaithai Party, the Prime Minister humorously mentioned their close residential proximity and regular conversations. Regarding Chalermchai Sri-on’s possible involvement with the Bhumjaithai Party, Anutin stated that he had not yet discussed this matter with him. However, he highlighted the good relationship he shares with Chalermchai, affectionately referring to him as “Phi Tor.”
