Bangkok: The Restaurant Club has put forward a “Half and Half” project aimed at providing tax deductions, low-interest loans, and liquidity support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, received the proposal from the Restaurant Business Association, led by Mr. Sorathe.
According to Thai News Agency, the Food Business Association’s proposal lacks details but includes measures designed to assist restaurant operators. The plan would allow individuals to utilize tax invoices from SME restaurants for tax deductions in 2027, with a maximum limit of 20,000 baht. Legal entities could also benefit by deducting expenses from events such as parties, seminars, or entertainment held at SME restaurants, up to a maximum of 200,000 baht.
Furthermore, the proposal suggests that the government introduce low-interest loans, capped at 2.5%, with the Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG) serving as a guarantor. This measure aims to enhance liquidity for SMEs facing economic challenges. The proposal will now be forwarded to the relevant authorities for further consideration.
